Gameplay: overview (3/5★)
Impress the Barons of Hell to escape. . . uh, Hell! Each Baron has a certain “preference”, which must be satisfied by wearing a specific outfit. New outfits can be acquired by lessor demons, but they don’t give away outfits for free! Each demon requires a specific item (which are scattered throughout the explorable world). It’s important to minimize exploration, because you’re timed. If you’re too slow, it’s game-over. You’ll need to memorize every demons’ clues and requests as you traverse the world. Instead of collecting items, you may instead choose to fuck them! However, doing so will result in losing “morale”. If your morale ever drops to zero or less, you can’t leave Hell! Barons don’t take “no” for an answer, so you’ll need to shoot them to preserve morale. From the start of the game, you’re given thirteen bullets. There’s eight Barons, which leaves little room for error. Wandering the circles of Hell are the Inquisitor and his minions. Bullets can be used to kill his minions, but the Inquisitor is invincible! If he catches you too many times, you’ll get a bad ending (all the more reason to act quickly and appease the Barons!) There’s a few secrets throughout the world — can you find them all?

There are twenty-eight “videos”, each comprised of one more sexual animations. The artwork and animations are decent, but visual errors are regular — I think it has to do with the way the artwork was animated. Characters and objects can be strangely skewed, and they move unnaturally (a bit like jelly!) Overall, the animation is serviceable, but there’s a lot of room for improvement. The audio is hit-or-miss. Chelsea, the main heroine has hot, subdued breathy moans. Unfortunately, her moans are seldom appropriate for whatever’s on-screen; usually, they seem a little too relaxed for what’s happening. Chelsea is screwed by a wide variety of “demons”, including animals, insects, marionets, trees and zombies! Chelsea consents to most sexual content, but a number of scenes are reserved for her uh, “capture”. Considering how many times she has been violated thus far, it’s safe to say rape is probably a mild inconvenience to her.
Story: overview (2/5★)
Chelsea’s stuck in Hell; following the events of Witch Halloween, she was trapped inside a dollhouse. I haven’t played the first game in a long time, and there’s little exposition. If you haven’t played the first game, do so before picking up this title — otherwise, you’ll be utterly clueless what’s happening. I only recognized the setting and main protagonist. The Candle Demon has arrived to help to help her escape, lest she stay too long and enter “the point of no return”. He explains her predicament; she must travel the nine circles of Hell, impress the barons and avoid capture from the dreaded Inquisitor. Once she acquires eight keys, she’ll have the tools she needs to return to Earth. However, if she fails to shed her lustful ways, the Keymaster will never let her pass (and her journey will be for naught!)

There are a variety of music tracks (and they don’t always mesh together very well). One moment you’re listening to dreadful ambience (dreadful as in spooky), and then out of the blue it switches to some crazy techno track! It’s totally inappropriate. Once a sex-scene plays, if you were at all immersed in the game you’re probably not immersed anymore. Barring sex-scenes, Witch 2 Hell Adventure is pretty atmospheric. As you walk from “A” to “B”, the sound of footsteps overpowers the ominous sounds of Hell. The not-sex-scene music and vocals are a little cheesy, but they’re totally thematic — I liked them.
Visuals: overview (4/5★)
The titlescreen looks alright. It’s nicely arranged, and the slow-panning backdrop is pretty atmospheric (I suppose). You may review sex-scenes from the “Gallery”, but there’s no control over animations or playback. The “skip” button often skips the entire movie, as opposed to jumping to “key plot points” From “Settings”, you may adjust audio, display and remap keys. Witch 2 Hell Adventure offers a dark, grimy world meant to be soaked in. As the main protagonist walks at a snail’s pace, you’ll spend a great deal of time staring at the world. The artwork and visual effects are kind of amateurish, but they successfully deliver a horror vibe. Considering how much walking you’re forced to do, it’d be nice if the world had more to offer. The English isn’t great — it’s difficult to understand anything.
Verdict: wait for a sale (3/5★)
Witch 2 Hell Adventure is worth a play, but it suffers the same flaws as its predecessor; it’s a slow, slow game of timers and fetch quests. There are multiple routes and endings, so you’ll have to replay the game in order to unlock the full gallery. Unless you’re a completionist, I don’t see any reason to play Witch 2 Hell Adventure more than once or twice. You’ll spend the vast majority of the game pressing the same two keys as you watch Chelsea walk from “A” to “B” — you can summarize Witch 2 Hell Adventure as “fetch quests (and lot’s of ’em!)” You could probably watch YouTube (or I dunno, porn) as you as you play. Though the animations are a little shaky, the sex-scenes are kind of hot (as long as you enjoy horror-themed content). It’s not often you get to see grotesque animals and demons have their way in Steam games! However, they’re mostly uncontrollable, short animation loops without interactivity. If Hell is anything like Witch 2 Hell Adventure, maybe eternal damnation ain’t so bad — now where’s the nearest haunted doll house?
