I received a free copy of this game for review purposes — thanks OTAKU Plan! For the purposes of this review, I will only be discussing the patched version of this game.
Gameplay: overview (2/5★)
I’d describe this game as a visual-novel with RPG elements. It features a substantial amount of reading; you’re mostly traveling between cutscenes and “H-events”. There are even numerous (optional) “sub-episodes” throughout the game, offering a glimpses into the lives of side characters. You’ll spend most of the game one-shotting enemies and collecting new weapons and armor like candy. A few sub-episodes allow you to play as weaker characters, forcing you to engage in turn-based combat (where you may have to strike enemies twice to proceed!) There’s no reason whatsoever to “grind” or collect restorative items. If you’re grinding or stocking-up, you’re wasting your time. However, you’re strongly encouraged to collect a copy of each item in the game. One-hundred-percent completions means leaving no chest, barrel, shelf, shop or dialogue unturned. In a sense, it’s like one great-big fetch-quest (but whether or not it’s worth it, I have no idea). There are also a few puzzles throughout the game, but the difficulty is trivial. Most of the time, you’re able to “cheat” by smashing your way through walls. When you can’t, you can generally guess your way to completion.
Sexual Content: overview (3/5★)
There are over twenty-four unlockable sex-scenes (although there are quite a bit of overlapping artwork). Each sex-scene typically revolves around a single base CG, but a few scenes offer compilations. Each CG comes with variations for undress, progression, and/or climax — oftentimes, several climaxes. Depending on your “Semen Boost Level”, you’re able to fire three or more additional cum-shots (each one layering upon the last!) By your fourth climax, the screen will be reduced to a sloppy shower. It’s important to stock-up on “Terra-erection Z” supplements to enjoy each sex-scene to the fullest. They are provided during some events and sold by assorted vendors. Every sexual relation begins with rape; however, each girl ultimately falls madly in love with the protagonist. It’s as if his stupendous ejaculation rewires their brains! The age and cup-size of each protagonist typically falls under two extremes; they either have stupidly big breasts or none at all; and they are either probably not legal or seemingly middle-aged. I hate oversized tits, but I can get behind lolis — woot! Woot! The artwork is high-quality, but I was bothered by the gross reuse of imagery. I grew weary of seeing the same few images again and again. I loved the focus the cum-floods, but they seemed sloppily crafted (LOL).
There are a few “questionable” characters in the game, and I’m gonna discuss them for entertainment purposes.
Okuba refers to Rem as a “good kid”, and her sex-scenes typically fixate on her loli-features.
Though it is strongly implied that Rem is a child, it’s later established that she is at least one-thousand years old.
Which means Rem’s legal!
On the other hand, Yumi is a very questionable character.
It’s implied (and if I remember correctly, established — but don’t quote me) that she attends high-school.
At one point in the story, she screams “Adolescent J-kick!” (Okubo’s thirty-five — he’s no adolescent!)
Yumi uses the word “JK”, which Wikipedia defines as “joshi kōsei (女子高生)”, which means “female high school student”.
But don’t worry, adolescents and high-school students can be eighteen. . . so uh, legal enough!
If that’s not proof enough Yumi’s “legal enough”, look at her tits — they’re beach balls!
Story: overview (3/5★)
Okubo Tatsuyo, thirty-five, is a lonely virgin with a dead-end job. He lives to fap — when he’s not at work, he spends his time masturbating to “erotic rape games”. Following an altucation with his supervisor, Okubo heads home — without his keys and wallet (unbeknownst to him!) His manager sends coworker, neighbor and crush, Yumi to deliver his possessions. Thankfully, Okubo has a spare set of keys on hand. After entering his home, he recieves a mysterious text.
It reads, “Nice to meet you, I am the Goddess. I have a request for you.”
“Can you come and be the hero of another world?”
The Demon King has awakened, and she no longer possesses the power to seal her away (the king is a “her”). By summoning a hero from a “parallel world”, she hopes to enlist the strength she needs to defeat the King for good. Okubo unwittingly signs her “contract”, bartering his freedom for “dozens of cute girls!” She casts a spell to “reincarnate” him, destroying his body to transport his mind and spirit into her own world. As this spell takes place, Yumi lets herself into his home — and she too is transported into the her realm.
To everybody’s surprise, Okubo awakens as an orc — a creature known for their insatiable sex drive.
Goddess is accompanied by Rem, her loyal guard and servant. She explains that people tend to reincarnate into what is most appropriate for their character. Okubo, slave to his desires became the epidemy of debauchery (hardly the hero she had hoped for). Goddess plans on sending him back, but Rem has other plans for Okubo. After all, it was Rem who chose Okubo.
Don’t forget to check the “Reflection Room” after beating the game to play “sequel stories”!
Sound: overview (4/5★)
There are a wide variety of silly (and oftentimes thematically inappropriate) sound effects that hammer this game as a sort of “comedy”. From sirens to random meowing sounds, they are used to deliver punchlines and signify ridiculous situations. Personally, I found them really cheesy — but I appreciated the effort. With every footstep, you’ll hear it. I don’t mind the pitter-patty of footsteps, but some users may find them annoying. Overall, the music and sound effects were nice. I was surprised to hear no moans or voiced lines. There’s are a few squishing and splooging effects, but they were kind of annoying.
Visuals: overview (3/5★)
The titlescreen is attractive. The Goddess is a strong welcoming character, and the lettering is cutesy. Using the “F1” key, you’re able to bring up a menu to adjust display and control preferences. It’s not in English, but it can be used to borderless-fullscreen the application (strictly on boot). Using the “F7” key, you may adjust audio preferences. To enter the main-menu, you must hit the “F12” key (to reset the application). From the “Reflection Room”, you may view previously encountered sex-scenes or “sub-episodes”. Many CGs lack backgrounds, which means the “reflection room” will serve as a backdrop. The dialogue box can be hidden using the “A” key. Overall, I wasn’t impressed by this game’s visual aesthetic; it’s clear premade sprites were generously used. The player character lacks meaningful artwork (he can only be seen in part during sex-scenes). I guess HONEYSOFT spent their budget on Goddess’s big tits.
Verdict: should have been a visual novel (3/5★)
I have mixed feelings about this game. I don’t think RPGMaker was the best choice to deliver the story; considering the amount of writing and exposition, this is a game that’d translate well to a VN. The only meaningful usage of RPGMaker is the overarching “collect-a-thon”. You’re encouraged to beat the game with a copy of every item in the game, but it’s a boring task. It’s not fun hugging walls and mashing “enter” — it breaks the flow between cutscenes. It might make sense if there were more turn-based battles (that you could lose), but it’s just a ploy to inflate playtime. The characters are utterly unbelievable and story is poorly paced, but it’s a genuinely interesting idea. I ended up glossing over most of the sex-scenes, but the story was interesting enough to keep me reading. That Time I Got Reincarnated as an Orc is an “Isekai” parody — a commentary on a cliché hentai story. For the most part, the comedy was hit-or-miss, but I laughed-out-loud a a few times. The visuals are bleh, and the adult content was a little repetitive (but nonetheless hot). There’s humongous tits and tiny tits — and gallons of money shots! One of the biggest sexual themes of this game are multiple, excessive cum-shots. However, if you’re not a fan of rape and “living sex toys” you won’t enjoy the content. Though my feelings on this title are so-so, I’m really glad OTAKU Plan sent me a copy. I don’t stay up and fap write past 3AM for any game!
