Foreword
I received a free copy of this game for review purposes — thanks Bambuseae Games! For the purposes of this review, I will only be discussing the patched game. When I recieved this game, there was no adult patch. When the adult patch was available, it didn’t work. It remained dysfunctional until three or four days after my initial review, for reasons that allude me. It’s great to finish this article.
Gameplay: overview (3/5★)
The goal of the game is to complete levels by searching for hidden objects. There are ten levels to see, each of which comprised of multiple “rounds”. In each round, you must find a designated number of hidden objects, such as strawberries or panties. You’re timed, so it’s important to act quickly! The number of lips indicated on each level indicate the difficultly level; single lips only require you to find three objects per round, but three lips call for fifteen! Some levels feature disappearing objects, adding a new level of difficulty (or annoyance). If you get stuck, you can hit the lightbulb button to temporary reveal the locations of what you’re looking for! It’s a cheat button, but it won’t play the game for you. For every level you see to completion, you’ll earn another sex-scene!
Sexual Content: overview (3/5★)
There are twelve sex-scenes, which include one or more base, animated CGs with variations for undress and climax. Each sex-scene is functionally a miniature visual novel; sometimes, they even have multiple choices. There are wrong choices, but you’ll only have to guess again. The writing helps set the scene and establish characters, but there’s only a fegw minutes of reading per scene. While I enjoy the “lore”, the story content feels a little out of place. The fast-paced gameplay is a stark contrast from reading. The story-telling leaves a lot to be desired; I’ve read worse English, but it’s so strangely worded I don’t know what to thing. The artwork is great, and the animations are decent — but the backgrounds are pretty cheap. The player character doesn’t always ask for permission, but it’s clear he shares some sort of open relationship with each female lead. They may not say “yes”, but it’s not like they say “no” either!
Story: overview (2/5★)
Bambuseae Games writes, “You need to help the beautiful girls to find their lost things.”
At no point does the protagonist find “lost things” (outside of gameplay), so it’s safe to say it isn’t important to the story. There are three female protagonists, Yuki, Nashi and Shaoya. Each character plays a certain role in the player character’s life; they seem to be an assortment of “friends with benefits”. Each sex-scene provides some insight into their background and personalities. However, there doesn’t seem to be any sort of overarching story or plot.
There are six different endings — each of them is tied to a single choice in the final scene.
Sound: overview (3/5★)
The gameplay jams are rockin’, and the reading jams are relaxing. However, they aren’t very long (and as a result, kind of get old). The female cast provide cutesy laughs and sounds, but the sex-sounds are a little lacking. As dialogue is painted on-screen, it makes an audible “bu-u-ur”. I wish it was toggleable — It’ll surely get on some users’ nerves.
Visuals: overview (3/5★)
The titlescreen offers a wonderful spread, but the menu seems a little imbalanced. From “Setting”, you may adjust audio and language preferences. There doesn’t seem to be a way to window the application. The level-select screen doubles as a gallery. Unlocked scenes can be reviewed, but there is no way to skip to adult content. The user-interface can be hidden, but the CGs can’t be advanced without bringing up dialogue. In other words, there isn’t a way to view only CGs. The visual novel gameplay is a mixed bag of visual elements. There’s a great deal of stylistic clashing; it appears the backgrounds are simply photos with filters applied to them.
Verdict: glad it works now (3/5★)
This game could use some polish. The “hidden object” gameplay isn’t a whole lot of fun, and it plays no part in the story — I wish Bambuseae Games tried harder. It’d be comedic to see how they explain how Yuki, Nashi and Shaoya manage to lose all of their panties again and again! Overall, the English and storytelling leave a lot to be desired. But hey, if you need any new “dirty talk” to use in bed, you might learn a thing or two from this game! I thought the lewd content was mildly hot — sometimes even erotically creative. I can’t say I’ve ever seen a woman screw her computer! Hey sexy gamer girls, I have an RTX 3090 GPU — wanna to ride my computer? Sweet House is a mediocre game, but as long as the gameplay interests you it’s totally worth a buck or two. Even if you skip all of the levels (using “Porn Mode”) there’s enough reading and pornography to make it worth your time. Just uh, mind the weird English.
